Cambodia Records an Increase on Registered Vehicles

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has reported an increase in the number of the registered vehicles in Cambodia. Minister Sun Chanthol says that the registered cars are around 920,000 while about 5.2 million for the motorcycles.

Minister Chanthol says, “This growth is thanks to peace that has allowed the government and people to restore and rebuild the nation and advance firmly with development and growth in all sectors”.

The Minister has added that the number of new registered vehicles in 2020 was in total 640,183, consisting of 15,956 heavy trucks, 92,958 cars and 531,269 motorbikes. It has recorded a huge increase of vehicles in the Kingdom of Cambodia since 1998 – from only 65,000 for cars while 200,000 for motorcycles.
